REC Studios | 301 Castlereagh St

” Come and record tomorrow’s music in a studio that was built to be timeless. “

It all began in 1954 when Columbia Gramophone Studios moved to the now famed 301 Castlereagh St address. Since then, and under various guises (EMI, Level 7 and now REC), the studio and it’s engineers have been at the forefront of innovations in recording and have put Australian record production at the top of global music charts.

In 2013 the studio’s new management and production team are helping to keep this legacy alive. With a deep respect and knowledge of the past, and a clear vision for the future, our team is combining classic analog with state of the art digital equipment to help bring any size project to life.

Artists that have graced the halls over the years include: David Bowie, Duran Duran, Prince, Alanis Morissette, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Alan Parsons, Split Enz, INXS, Icehouse, Easy Beats, Midnight Oil, Divinyls, The Script, Newton Faulkner, Paramore, and the list goes on…
